Vikash Gupta, chief executive of multi-family office VAR Capital – which recently opened a representative office in Dubai – asserted that the recent war has undoubtedly caused some uncertainty in region, especially in financial hubs like Dubai, Riyadh, and Abu Dhabi.

“Many family offices have been unnerved by the impact of war in these ‘safe haven’ cities, which has, in turn, affected the local economy and its real estate markets,” he said.

Nevertheless, family offices appear to remain confident in the region. Mr Gupta emphasised the importance of “strong local leadership” and its role in defending the Middle East, reassuring residents, supporting the economy.

As a result, Mr Gupta has not encountered any family offices who are considering relocating.

This resilience stems from the overall structure of family offices, which is inherently predicated on the long-term.
